• Meaning Slips

пустые падает дождь как стекло заливки.
It is interesting to see what becomes of abstract meaning in language translations. Today I tried to find a point of equilibrium with abstract meaning, in a language translator. I had to work and refine both the English and Russian statements, until they reached an equilibrium, and both interpreted the statement with the same meaning. It was an interesting process.

  • Björk, Pagan Poetry | 2 Live Performances

The small details of this performance are brilliant, including the scientific image in the background, the winding of the machine in the beginning, the bird-like red dress, and the tapping of her foot.
The an-other, a live performance, at the Riverside Church in New York. The raw.

  • The Unlikely Consequence

I do not think any of us are wise enough to truly know what good we may do, nor what harm we may be generating. We are blind to the ever changing mechanisms which organically emerge from our society. In other words, we haven’t a clue.

  • You and I: Jeff Buckley

A { [ haunting ] } track produced in Memphis, in his small house on North Rembert street. He recorded the pieces with only his voice and his four-track, using the acoustic elements of his house for effect. It was released after his death, on “Sketches For My Sweetheart the Drunk”. Buckley said he was influenced by Sufi musician Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. This track reveals this influence. Interestingly, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan died only a few months after Jeff Buckley, in 1997.

  • A moment’s voice; very fragile, very strong.

A very old song, by Laura Nyro; Christmas in my soul. I believe it was written in 1968, or about that time. It describes a state of mind, that is transitory, yet sustains. She was very young at this time, and died fairly young as well. This song has from time to time felt very naive. But as I listen to it tonight, I recognize something that is not naive, is fragile, yet impenetrable and unwavering in the midst of an insurmountable grotesqueness. It is the state of the world surrounding us from time to time. But then it vanishes from sight and memory, for a while.

  • Palindromes: Fibonacci Analysis Could Be Much More.

Amazing how common/popular these games were 2,000 years ago. I like the transcription from a numerical/abstract space in your head into a 2D flat plane; a natural grid… It would be fun to do this with Fibonacci numbers; as a filter to analyze price movements to see what forms emerge; not to just let the price values hit an overlay of Fibonacci levels as is common now in technical analysis; but to allow the values themselves to unfold a form, as the values in a Palindrome create a form.

  • Artist Julie Mehretu: The Seven Acts of Mercy

Julie Mehretu’s images appear to be swirling masses of information or locations which have been set free from any geographic constraints, yet form their own geographies. She is an Ethiopian born American artist, now based in Harlem, and is known for her large-scale paintings and drawings which combine maps and diagrams of socially charged public… Continue Reading

  • Antony: Epilepsy is Dancing

From Antony. Unsure why he targeted epilepsy here. It came out at an odd time in my life, when there were videos being made, also mentioning the same. Only with a different target, and used to intimidate. I am not thrilled with romanticizing it. But I like song. I don’t know if Antony has a… Continue Reading
