Intersections of the Warring and Innocence.

Above is the trailer from the film, 7 Years in Tibet. It is a true story about climber Heinrich Harrer, who was drawn to climb a mountain in the Himalayas,  but was forced to turn back from injury and weather. The whole of that expedition was filled with mishaps and obstacles, that he tried to ignore. But these road blocks lead him to a place he would not have likely found otherwise–living in a remote village in Tibet that just happened to be the home of the Dalai Lama. It was the only Tibetan community that would allow Harrer and his climbing partner to stay, as foreigners. And to leave Tibet, meant that they would likely be placed back in a prison camp in India, from which they had escaped, because of World War II. The life in Tibet that opened to Harrer, was incredibly beautiful. And then war came to Tibet as well. The intersection of the warring with those devoted to respecting life runs through this film.
