I fell asleep for just 30 seconds, as I waited for my screen to refresh, (troubles these days with my technology…). In those moments, I had a thought/image about how good it would feel to pack it all in, and move to Paris. When I began WRLDs, I researched Paris, because of their interesting approach to retail, which often feels much less harsh, and in your face than spaces in the states. One of my favorite websites, is from Astier de Villatte. I am not so intrigued by the “stuff” as I am by the way they build a market, to include human experience.
Also, I ran across a post on Velib, in yet another post from Fred Wilson. He is in Paris, and sending back beautiful images, seen through aggregates of his posts in FriendFeed. Velib provides public access to bicycles in Paris. Just look at the images of the bikes. They are beautiful, clean, and available. The streets are amazingly clean as well. I can not imagine a public access entity looking so pristine. He says they work easily and well. It feels so heavy and harsh here….
