Flesh Apple

An early interactive work, when computing systems were just beginning to be accessible to the consumer.  This worked used the structure of the programming language, to create a psychological response to an apple, an ancient symbol of desire. The apple was projected onto a large screen in a room. The viewer was provided with gloves, imbedded with light sensors, which were used to interact with the image. If the viewer stayed for a long enough period of time, the apple transformed itself, becoming more human and flesh-like. Once the viewer backed away, the apple returned to its previous apple state.

Later, this work was featured on the cover of a book, by Polish Artist Jan Berdyszak.
